AZS-0-102 Personal Flashlight

          1 FUNCTION

          AZS-0-102 Flashlight is designed for illuminating the operating areas of firefighters when extinguishing fires, performing emergency recovery and other urgent works, as well as for lighting the place of emergency recovery. The Flashlight is carried by one person.

          The Flashlight is manufactured in U1* climatic modification in accordance with GOST 15150-69 Standard and is intended for operation in the temperature range from -20ºС to +40ºС.

          The Flashlight complies with GOST 4677-82 “Lanterns. General specifications. Change No. 3 BY” Standard requirements, the certificate of conformity is available.

          2 TECHNICAL DATA

          2.1 Specifications.

          2.2 Warranty service life of the Flashlight: 30 months from the date of shipment.

          2.3 Service life of the Flashlight: 5 years at least.

          2.4 The Flashlight remains operational under and after exposure to the following physical stress:

          a) vibration loads in the frequency ranging from 10 to 55 Hz with vertical and horizontal accelerations of 1 G max;

          b) vertical and horizontal shock loads with a peak acceleration value of up to 50 G and width from 2 to 15 ms.

          2.5 The Flashlight remains operational upon exposure to the following factors:

          a) max ambient operating temperature (+40°C): for 2 hours at least;

          b) extremely high ambient temperature (+150±5°С): for 3 minutes at least;

          c) min ambient operating temperature (-20°C): for 2 hours at least;

          d) high humidity (98% @ 25°C): for 6 cycles at least;

          e) after exposure to rain with 5 mm/minute max intensity.

          4 DESIGN AND PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION

          AZS-0-102 Flashlight is a compact optoelectronic device operating in two modes: max brightness mode and economy mode.

          The Flashlight is installed on the rescuer's helmet with a standard Picatinny rail by using the mount available on the Flashlight body. For mounting, depress the lock nut, install the Flashlight on the rail, then tighten the lock nut. Remove the Flashlight in reverse order. The Flashlight mount has ±14º vertical rotation angle in reference to the horizontal axis.

          The Flashlight set also contains a detachable washer-type mount installable instead of the Picatinny mount. The Flashlight is installed in a seat on the rescuer's helmet through the guiding rails.

          The Flashlight has a long focused beam with side illumination.

          CreeXP-G3 warm yellow LED is used as the light source. Power is supplied by an 18650 3350mAh rechargeable Li-ion battery. In order to switch the Flashlight ON/OFF, press the button on the handle side until it clicks. After powering, the Flashlight operates in max brightness mode. Switch modes by short pressing the button (without clicking). The Flashlight blinks 1 time when switching from economy to max brightness mode.

          In order to charge the Flashlight battery, remove the charge port plug in the butt end of the Flashlight and connect the charger to the port. The battery charge indicator should lighten up. Red indicator = battery is charging, blue indicator = battery fully charged. As soon as the battery is fully charged, you can disconnect the charger from the Flashlight port and insert the charge port plug tightly.

          During operation, the approximate level of battery charge is signaled by the battery charge indicator:

          no indicator = battery charge level >50%;

          blue indicator = battery charge level 50% or less;

          red indicator = battery charge level low, the Flashlight will shutdown in about 30 minutes.

          Also, the Flashlight will blink once in a while for about 30 minutes when the battery charge level is low.

          When the battery charge level is critical, the Flashlight switches to pulse operation mode, i.e. it starts switching on and off shortly, thereby signaling that the user must switch the Flashlight off with the button, otherwise the battery will fail and stop charging.
